01 — About the project

Not a blog. A basecamp for light hunters.

I Shoot Landscapes started in 2016 with one battered tripod and a tent in Lofoten. Today it's a collective of 14 photographers, guides and retouchers who publish what actually worked — settings, failures, maps, weather mistakes included. We believe great landscapes are earned on foot, not in Photoshop.

Real RAW, real weather, real hikes.

What we do every week:

  • Scout & publish — 3 new location breakdowns with parking GPS, hike time, best season, focal lengths and dangers.
  • Teach light — dawn/dusk angles, fog probability, aurora Kp, tide tables for seascapes.
  • Show edits — full Lightroom screen recordings, no presets sold, no sky swaps.
  • Guide small groups — max 6 people, 4:30 AM starts, thermos included.
  • Protect places — Leave No Trace, no geotagging of fragile spots, 5% of profit to trail funds.

Do you share exact locations?

Yes for resilient spots (national parks, famous viewpoints) with parking GPS and trail links. Fragile alpine lakes and private land are described by region only — we explain why and how to find your own.

What editing software do you use?

Lightroom + Photoshop for 95% of work. We publish full histories, no LUT sales. Capture One variants for Fujifilm shooters included.

Can beginners join workshops?

Absolutely. Pre-trip training, camera setup help and patient coaching. If you can hike 6 km with a backpack, you can join.
